EDI's Social and Emotional Readiness Assessment App is offered free of charge for individual users to evaluate individual schools.

If you are a school district or other entity with multiple schools, you will need to obtain a license for a nominal fee before using this App to assess your school facilities.

Please write to Prakash@EducationDesign.com to obtain a group license.

The group license will provide users with additional data and statistics that consolidates the assessment findings into specialized and customized reports by geography, school type, age, etc.

ⓘ Assessment Instructions

Welcome to the EDI Social and Emotional Readiness Assessment. This tool evaluates how effectively your school's physical environment supports belonging, relationships, emotional development, identity formation, inclusion, and community.

Students learn best when they feel connected, valued, respected, and emotionally safe — and the physical environment plays a significant role in shaping those experiences.

How to Score:

  1. 1You will rate 15 design patterns across five areas: Belonging, Relationships, Emotional Support, Student Voice & Ownership, and Community.
  2. 2Rate each question on a 0–5 scale: 0 – Not Present, 1 – Poor, 2 – Below Expectations, 3 – Adequate, 4 – Strong, 5 – Exemplary.
  3. 3Select the rating that most closely matches the current conditions at your school. Rate what exists today — a future master plan can be assessed separately as its own report.

Note: You may take this survey as often as you like. All your previous assessments are securely stored in your history for later reference.
